Peddi Postponed to April; Ustaad Bhagat Singh Steps Into Crowded March Window
The summer 2026 Telugu cinema calendar is undergoing a major reshuffle, with several high-profile releases moving dates to avoid an intense box-office clash. The Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, has officially been postponed from its earlier March release to the end of April.
The shift comes just hours after the makers of Ustaad Bhagat Singh confirmed that their film would hit theatres in late March, setting up a direct battle with other big-ticket pan-Indian projects slated around the same period.
Ustaad Bhagat Singh Claims March Slot
On Tuesday, the production house behind Ustaad Bhagat Singh announced that the film will arrive in cinemas on March 26, 2026. The announcement was accompanied by a celebratory message promising a festival-like theatrical experience and teasing a fiery box-office season.
The timing places the action entertainer just a week after another major release and right in the middle of what is shaping up to be one of the most competitive theatrical corridors of the year.
Peddi Moves to April 30
Shortly after the March 26 date was locked in by its rival, both director Buchi Babu Sana and lead actor Ram Charan took to social media to confirm Peddi’s postponement. A new date—April 30, 2026—was revealed along with fresh promotional artwork from the film.
The decision suggests a strategic attempt to secure breathing room at the box office rather than entering a crowded release window dominated by multiple star-driven projects.
Dacoit Also Shifts, March Still Packed
The ripple effect did not stop there. Adivi Sesh’s upcoming film Dacoit has also been pushed from its original March plan to an April 10 release, further thinning the early-summer lineup.
However, uncertainty remains around other March contenders, including whether additional films will stick to their announced dates or opt for later windows to avoid audience overlap.
A Strategic Game of Release Dates
With pan-Indian releases increasingly targeting holiday corridors and extended weekends, release-date planning has become almost as competitive as the films themselves. Producers are now carefully weighing audience reach, screen availability, and marketing bandwidth before committing to crowded periods.
As of now, April appears to be emerging as the new battleground for big Telugu and multi-language releases, while March still holds the promise of fireworks if the remaining contenders stay put.
