Men’s Under-19 World Cup: India Dominate Zimbabwe in Bulawayo Super Six Clash

India produced a commanding all-round performance to defeat Zimbabwe by a massive 204 runs in their Super Six encounter at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, strengthening their position in the knockout race at the Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

After being asked to bat first, the Indian youngsters piled up an imposing total, riding on a brilliant century from Vihaan Malhotra and explosive contributions from the top order.

Big Runs from India’s Batting Unit

Vihaan Malhotra anchored the innings with an unbeaten 109, displaying composure and clean strokeplay throughout his knock. He was well supported by 14-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who launched the attack early with a rapid 52 off just 30 deliveries.

Wicketkeeper Abhigyan Kundu added further momentum with a fluent 61, while Khilan Patel’s quickfire 30 helped India surge past the 350-run mark by the end of their 50 overs.

Bowlers Seal the Emphatic Win

Defending the towering total, India’s bowlers struck regularly to keep Zimbabwe under constant pressure. Fast bowler R.S. Ambrish made early inroads with the new ball, removing two batters inside the opening stages of the chase.

Captain Ayush Mhatre and spinner Udhav Mohan then took control in the middle overs, claiming three wickets each to dismantle the home side’s resistance.

Zimbabwe were eventually dismissed for 148 in 37.4 overs, sealing a one-sided contest and underlining India’s dominance in the Super Six stage.

Strong Signal Ahead of Knockouts

The comprehensive victory not only boosted India’s net run rate but also sent a clear warning to other contenders in the tournament. With form peaking at the right time, the young squad will look to carry this momentum into their remaining matches.
