PM Modi Says Union Budget 2026–27 Boosts Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat

PM Modi Highlights Union Budget Push for Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the Union Budget 2026–27 lays out an ambitious roadmap to accelerate India’s manufacturing ambitions and deepen the country’s self-reliance mission. In a video address, the Prime Minister described the budget as a catalyst that converts aspirations into action while reinforcing the nation’s long-term growth foundation.

He stressed that the proposals strike a balance between fiscal prudence and expansion, with an emphasis on lowering the fiscal deficit, containing inflation and sustaining high levels of capital expenditure to fuel economic momentum.

Boost for Sunrise and Strategic Sectors

According to the Prime Minister, the budget offers unprecedented backing to emerging and strategic industries. Key focus areas include biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, next-generation semiconductor manufacturing, electronics components, rare earth supply chains and critical mineral development.

He added that targeted schemes for textiles, advanced tool manufacturing and strengthening micro, small and medium enterprises are aimed at meeting both immediate industrial requirements and future competitiveness.

Women-Centric and Youth-Focused Measures

Calling the budget historic, Mr Modi said it reflects the empowered role of women in India’s growth story. He likened the financial blueprint to a “highway of opportunities” that nurtures present-day aspirations while building for the decades ahead.

He also underlined that wide-ranging reforms and new initiatives are designed to provide India’s youth with a supportive environment to innovate, create and lead as the country moves toward its 2047 development goals.

Education and Agriculture in Focus

The Prime Minister pointed to plans for constructing new hostels for girl students in every district, saying this would expand access to education and strengthen social inclusion.

He reiterated that agriculture and allied sectors remain central to government policy, noting special measures for farmers involved in coconut, cashew, cocoa and sandalwood cultivation, along with continued support for dairy and fisheries.

Building Future Leaders and Innovators

Mr Modi concluded that the budget’s provisions aim to nurture leadership, innovation and creativity across industries, positioning India for sustained high growth and global competitiveness in the years to come.
