Border 2 Worldwide Box Office Day 2: Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan Film Charges Toward ₹100 Crore

Sunny Deol’s impressive streak with sequel films shows no signs of slowing down. His latest release, Border 2, is racing toward the ₹100 crore mark at the global box office within just three days of release, powered by strong openings across India and encouraging overseas numbers.

According to industry tracker estimates, the film has earned around ₹93 crore worldwide in its first two days. The domestic gross currently stands at approximately ₹78.6 crore, while overseas markets have contributed close to ₹15 crore.

Strong Opening Momentum

The war drama opened to a worldwide collection of ₹43.5 crore on Day 1, placing it among the biggest openings in recent times. Trade observers say the film’s patriotic theme and holiday timing have helped pull crowds into cinemas from early morning shows.

Producers highlighted the enthusiastic turnout in a statement, noting that theatres witnessed packed houses throughout the day, particularly during Republic Day screenings.

How It Compares With Other Big Releases

When compared with recent blockbusters, Border 2 is tracking ahead of several high-profile titles at the same stage, though it trails the two-day record set by Gadar 2. Industry analysts say the current pace still positions the film for a massive extended weekend.

Trade Experts Predict Big Weekend

Cinema exhibitors and distributors remain optimistic about the film’s long-term prospects. Multiplex chains across the country have reported strong growth after the opening day, driven largely by positive word-of-mouth.

Executives from major exhibition networks revealed that regions such as Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Mumbai are responding particularly well to the film. Overseas, while certain Middle Eastern markets are missing from the release slate, trade insiders believe strong business in North America, the UK and Australia could compensate over time.

Overall, trade circles are forecasting that Border 2 could cross ₹150 crore worldwide over the extended holiday weekend if current momentum continues.

Cast and Crew

Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by T-Series and JP Films, the movie features an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty.

Like the 1997 original, the sequel is set against the backdrop of the 1971 India–Pakistan conflict, centering on the Battle of Longewala and continuing the franchise’s patriotic legacy on the big screen.
